Thank you for visiting our online home. We hope you'll feel welcome here. We also invite you to visit us at our physical location. We are proud of our beautiful school, the newest building in the Wickenburg Unified School District. We appreciate the voters who passed the $9.8 million bond allowing the construction of our modern two-story building in 2002. Our students, from kindergarten through fifth grade, love visiting the central library.
We encourage you to spend some time on our website. Learn about us and our mission to serve your children. You'll find a page that answers frequently asked questions. If your question isn't answered there, please contact us. Browse through our helpful links for parents and students. The calendar will let you know what's coming up soon. Then come back often to keep up with the news and events at our school.
We invite you to visit our school, in person as well as on-screen. Our staff will be happy to work show you around and get to know you better. We know you'll be impressed by the beautiful campus, positive atmosphere, and enthusiastic, energetic students.
Dear Hassayampa Family,
Welcome back from a wonderful summer! Hopefully you found plenty of time to have fun in the sun and enjoy some unstructured time with your families and friends. It has been a busy summer, and we are ready to get this school year started!
We have new staff members to welcome to our Hassayampa family and Wickenburg community. I am very pleased to welcome ten new staff members to Hassayampa: Angela Conway (2nd grade), Bilinda Albright (3rd grade), Michelle Akins and Loni Dowton (5th grade), Susan Frost (art), Barb Hall (attendance clerk), Jamie Youell (kindergarten paraprofessional), and Sally Hernandez (special education paraprofessional). Additionally, I have two teachers who aren’t new to the district who will be splitting the special education position, Stephanie Lindsey and Dena Griffel. Karen Ness has rejoined our team as a special education paraprofessional. Ms. Hansen had her baby so we have Mrs. Uhl running the first grade program until she is able to return. Please help welcome everyone to our Hassayampa family!
When I said it has been a busy summer, I wasn’t kidding. We spend most of the summer getting new air conditioning units, carpeting, and tile. Although the projects are mostly completed, there will be some items that still require attention. The parking lot was completed last school year, but over the summer it was sealed and striped. It looks great! On the academic end of things, we received several pallets containing our newly adopted English Language Arts (ELA) program, Wonders. We are excited to dig into these new materials and start teaching!
